2nd Workshop on neutrons in medicine and homeland security is organized by the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the National Centre for Nuclear Research in Świerk. The conference will take place September 12 – 13, 2019 and it is divided into two parts. The first day of the conference will be dedicated Boron Neutron Capture Therapy, the second one will be focused on the novel techniques in neutron generation, detection and dose monitoring. The event will be held at the Marian Smoluchowski Institute of Physics of the Jagiellonian University. This event is organized to bring together scientists from physics, nuclear medicine and healthcare to talk about the possibilities of implementing BNCT radiotherapy in Poland and the use of neutrons in homeland security.
The scientific scope cover the following fields:
- Boron Neutron Capture Therapy
- Effects of radiation on living organism
- Radiation therapy technologies
- Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy
- Current challenges in the cancers treatment
- Technologies in radiation detection
- Neutron activation techniques in medicine and homeland security
- Current solutions in neutron generation
- Detection of explosives
